ISMG's Fraud & Breach Prevention Summit Series Appear in Fifteen Cities Globally Throughout 2016

Events Provide Real-World Takeaways to Senior Security Practitioners

Information Security Media Group, the leading media provider to the information security community, has shown its commitment to education and networking through its series of Fraud and Breach Prevention Summits during the 2016 calendar year. The company’s Summits are a global series of events designed for senior-level security and fraud professionals and risk managers from multiple verticals, including financial services, healthcare, retail, education, and the public sector.

“We’re pleased to see continued growth and increased participation by vendors and attendees at each Summit,” says ISMG CEO Sanjay Kalra. “They’ve been a wonderful opportunity for technology providers to meet senior-level practitioners interested in their solutions, and the quality of the content we provide has been a huge draw for our attendees.”

The session presenters throughout these Summits have been a diverse group that encompass government security leaders from the FBI, Secret Service and the Department of Homeland Security; partnerships with professional associations such as (ISC)2, the Information Security Forum (ISF) and American Bankers Association; and industry leaders in the vendor community including RSA, Arbor Networks and IBM.

Each Summit is designed to give participants actionable insight into the most pressing data breach and fraud problems currently plaguing organizations. Last May’s Washington D.C. Summit featured Keynote speaker Phyllis Schneck, Deputy Undersecretary for Cybersecurity at the Department of Homeland Security, discussing ways the private sector can share cyber threat intelligence with government agencies without exposing them to liability concerns, while the July Boston Summit featured former RSA Executive Chairman Art Coviello on ways organizations can battle against increasingly sophisticated and dangerous cyber threats.

A wide range of exhibitors, including Dell Security, NICE Actimize, and Fiserv have also contributed subject matter experts from their organizations to lead sessions on such topics as multilayered authentication, improving mobile banking security, and email fraud tactics, among others.

At the recent New York Summit, the Fraud track featured a session led by PwC’s Fraud Co-leaders Genevieve Gimbert and Brian Castelli titled “Operational Efficiency, Authentication & Fraud Analytics.” The session highlighted key strategies for enhancing authentication across multiple channels and customers, how to move toward a more holistic, risk-based approach to managing fraud in the financial sector, and ways to improve operational efficiencies while enhancing the customer experience.

ISMG already has hosted seven Fraud and Breach Prevention Summits through the first eight months of 2016, most recently its two-day Summit in New York on August 2 and 3. ISMG’s global Fraud and Breach Prevention Summit series continues through the rest of 2016 in Singapore (September 1), Toronto (September 13-14), Dubai (October 9-10), and London (November 8). ISMG also will host its yearly Healthcare Security Summit, which focuses on cybersecurity challenges unique to the healthcare industry, in New York November 1 and 2.
