Not knowing where all the data resides in an organization is a major hurdle when it comes to protecting and securing that data, says Prakash Kumar Ranjan, senior manager and lead, IT and information security audit, Airtel Payments Bank.

"We should know how the data is transmitting, So we will protect the data in laptops or mobile devices using mobile device management tools," Ranjan says.

In a video interview at Information Security Media Group's Cybersecurity Summit in New Delhi, Ranjan discusses:

  • Challenges in data governance;
  • How to classify data in order apply data security rules;
  • How to ensure privileged access management is implemented properly.

Ranjan is the senior manager and lead for IT and information security audit at Airtel Payments Bank . Previously, he was the risk and compliance manager at CNH Industrial. He has experience in security operation center design and management; IT risk assessment; review and implementation of security solutions; and regulatory compliance.
