Data, Mobility Pose Biggest Challenges to Security Leaders
Big data. Consumerization. Mobile growth. ISACA picks these as the top technology trends for IT and information security leaders to tackle in 2012. Robert Stroud offers tips to help manage the risks.

Stroud's first words of advice: "Embrace and educate," says the past international VP of ISACA, current VP of innovation and strategy at CA. "Information security executives are going to have to embrace these trends that are happening ... understand these technologies are coming, educate yourself, educate your organization, and embrace [the trends.]."

The key to embracing and educating is risk assessment, Stroud says.

Stroud is a past international vice president of ISACA. He is part of the framework committee and was the former chair of the COBIT Steering Committee. Stroud also serves as a vice president, Innovation and Strategy, at CA Technologies. He also serves on the itSMF International Board as Treasurer and Director Audit, Standards and Compliance. An industry veteran, Stroud has significant practical industry experience and is a recognized industry thought leader, speaker and leader. He is a global authority on governance with multiple contributions to industry knowledge in multiple publications including COBIT 4.0, 4.1 and COBIT 5, Guidance for Basel II and is also a former chair of the COBIT Steering Committee. Stroud is considered a global authority in service management with his experience, knowledge and leadership.
